Welcome!
It is easy to be happy if you are sitting in perfect health in a perfect
landscape, all by yourself, under a soft blue sky and the sun is shining gently.
All is well.
You can feel yourself relax, and you can feel yourself step into the greater
scheme of things, a creative order that is so beautiful it can make you weep, a
sense of time and space that is so expansive and yet so familiar, so healing of
old.
But that is not the situation we usually find ourselves in.
We are surrounded by cars and by noise, blaring TVs, billboards that exhort
us to be a starving 14 year old, misery, poverty, war, people hating each other,
nature being destroyed without a second thought.
Even if we aren't sick, stressed or depressed, it is really, really difficult
to retain that sense of balance we would find if we sat beside an ocean shore as
night falls, and the moon reflects silver in the midnight blue expansion,
creating a myriad of stars on the water.
Yet it is exactly that balance we all need to not just successfully recover
from disease or stop ourselves from sinking into sickness and hopeless misery,
but even to find the energy, hope and aliveness to do our lives properly, do
them as best we can, whatever they may be and wherever this may find us.
So in this little book I have called upon the essences of that universal
balance, the beautiful things, the eternal occurrences and experiences that make
life worthwhile and that make us more than animals, more than robots who go
through a grey 9-5 until they are too old and sick to work and then, they are
discarded.
That's not what being human is about, not now, and it never was.
For once, I did not want to talk about depression and anorexia, about
schizophrenia and addictions, about pain, sadness, loneliness, suffering - thank
you, we've all had more than enough of that already.
I wanted to turn us around and instead of spiralling down into our problems
yet again, to literally call upon the Universe and tune into that balance, that
Even Flow and that sheer BEAUTY and grandiosity of Creation which if we can
bring into our lives, will make everything better, everything easier and gives a
sense of peace and BELONGING like nothing else ever could.
This book contains the call - my call - to 55 essences which I believe are
the very antidote to so much suffering and loneliness.
Even in their simple contemplation, as we turn our minds and thoughts and
hearts AWAY from our every day and TOWARDS the eternal, these concepts bring a
sense of peace and connectedness, something to strive towards, something to call
towards, and even just by reading the poems and looking at the pictures, we are
telling all of ourselves what we want more of, what we really want to create in
our lives.
It is not cars or houses, or even being able to afford to buy a sanctuary
island far from the maddening crowds where we can be holy all the time that is
what is required, but really, what makes all the difference is a standing
resonant connection to the creative order itself, a one that is ALWAYS THERE, no
matter what our circumstances or our states of being.
This standing connection to the creative order beyond the every day is our
lifeline.
It is our hope and it is also an energetic connection, as though you were
plugged into the most incredible power network that will give you energy for
life, no matter where and no matter what.
I hope that you too will feel the calmness and clarity which comes to us as
we contemplate these "essential" ingredients for being a productive, happy human
being as the creative designed us all to be and that you will use them, in a way
that is perfect and right for you, to help you and give you a boost when you
need this - anytime, any place.
I am using these essences every day as my special supplements, the antidotes
to feeling lost and hopeless, and they have helped me immensely. I am delighted
to share them with you, for each one is a tiny little star of hope, of healing.
With my very best wishes to you,
Silvia
